You've achieved something for which many can only dream! Now it's time to start living again.
You've probably put so much on hold over the last few months, and your temptation will be to immediately get about unpacking so you can start getting back to normal again. But you will only be a new homeowner a few times in your life, so you should really make the most of this somewhat-unique life stage. Here are a few things that we see our clients do that exemplify living in the moment of being a new homeowner.
You're going to want to remember everything about this day, and you're going to love looking back at the pictures of your friends and family hauling boxes and moving you in. Years from how, when you sell your home, you'll look back at those photos with the fondest of memories.
Take lots of time to figure out where you want the furniture to sit, photos to hang, and life to happen. When you first move in, you have no idea what the flow of traffic, or air, of light through the house will really be like. So take some time to adapt to your space before you squeeze your belongings in.
Several people we know have invited friends and family over to help them bless their new home. Some did it with prayers and scripture, some with a party. They didn't wait until everything was perfect. Right after they moved in, their friends came over to celebrate and show gratitude with them. Sounds like first-things-first to us!
